I read a story called Fantail, Fantail. Fantail is a compound word because it has two words that make up one word. I played a game with Brooklyn to match the two words that made up the compound words.

Soldier-Moment in Time

WALT: Use adjectives (describing words) to make our writing interesting to the reader.
We pretended we were a soldier in the war, using our senses to describe what it was like.

I saw...dead bodies.
I heard...guns shooting at soldiers.
I felt...terrified.
I wondered...if I would get shot.

I  am training for cross country. I am streching my legs. I am starting warm ups. I am running fast like a cheetah.

FLIGHT

Drag =To slow the plane down
Thrust = To make the plane go faster
Gravity = Makes the plane go down
Lift = To make the plane to go up
Control = To make the plane go right,left,forward. Planes can't go backwards.

Matariki Hangi

i peeled carrots for our hangi. i peeled potatoes for our hangi.  I enjoyed eating the hangi, it was the first time i have had a hangi.  It was yummy!
